Learn from International Argentine Tango Teachers
At Tango Club Helsinki, learning Argentine Tango means learning from teachers who are actively involved in the international tango community. Our instructors don't only teach weekly classes in Helsinki—they also travel across Europe as guest teachers, performers and DJs, representing Finland at international festivals, workshops and tango events. Originally from Argentina and now based in Helsinki, Alejandro Herlan has spent more than a decade teaching, DJing and building tango communities throughout Europe. His teaching combines the elegance of traditional Argentine Tango with the creativity of modern Neotango, always emphasizing connection, musicality, body awareness and natural movement. Over the years, Alejandro has been invited to teach workshops and festivals in cities including Oslo, Stockholm, Tallinn, Warsaw, Nice and Kyiv, sharing a teaching approach built on strong technical foundations while encouraging every dancer to develop their own expression. Joining him is Anna Koroleva de Herlan, founder of Tango Barre Finland and an internationally recognized Argentine Tango teacher and DJ. Anna specializes in adornos, feminine technique, posture and body awareness, helping dancers move with confidence, elegance and authenticity. Anna has taught workshops and performed at festivals and events in Sweden, Estonia, France, Turkey and Argentina, while also performing as a Tango DJ at festivals and milongas throughout Europe. Together, Alejandro and Anna combine international experience with a welcoming teaching style that makes Tango Club Helsinki a place where complete beginners and experienced dancers alike can continue to grow.
Representing Finland Across Europe
Although Tango Club Helsinki is proudly based in Helsinki, our work extends far beyond Finland. Every year we are invited to teach, perform and DJ at festivals, workshops and tango events across Europe. These international collaborations allow us to exchange ideas with dancers from different countries while bringing new inspiration back to our community in Helsinki. Our goal is not only to teach steps but to help strengthen the Finnish Argentine Tango community through education, collaboration and international cultural exchange. By regularly working with organizers, teachers and dancers from across Europe, we stay connected to the latest developments in both traditional Argentine Tango and Neotango, ensuring that our students benefit from a modern, internationally informed learning experience. For our students, this means learning from teachers who remain active within the wider European tango scene while continuing to build one of Finland's most welcoming tango communities.
